If I was ever at a party that got way too rowdy and had the authorities called, Southside Jake (“For the purpose of the music”) is the guy I’d want talking to the cops and explaining what the hell happened.
Dude’s got something respectful yet authoritative yet street yet totally earnest about him, and it gives his approach to hip-hop a great base without ever even having to spit a rhyme.
